About Marivosso –

Our Name

Marivosso began with the jaguar—a powerful symbol of transformation, authority, and the bridge between worlds. In Spanish, Tigre Mariposa is a traditional South American name for the jaguar (Panthera onca). It translates directly to "Butterfly Tiger" and refers to the jaguar's distinctive black rosette spots, which resemble butterfly wings. In Mesoamerican cultures, the jaguar was a bridge between worlds—earthly and spiritual, powerful and transformative. And our first name paid tribute: Tigre Mariposso. 

But as the vision grew, something clicked. The Spanish word maravilloso means marvelous—and that's exactly what we saw in the natural world: something marvelous, something worth celebrating. We blended these ideas together and Marivosso was born. The jaguar's strength. The butterfly's transformation. The marvelous beauty of nature itself.

Our Roots

Every Marivosso design originates from the artist Osso Lovo (www.OssoLovo.com) —a photographer, regenerative rancher, and clothing designer who sees the world differently. Spending most of his time in nature as a farmer, Osso captures what others overlook. As he puts it: "God is one of the best architects out there—he plays with sacred geometry, colors and materials in ways that we never could."

This philosophy isn't just art—it's action. Through Green Bee Farms (www.GreenBeeFarms.org), a Vermont-based 501(c)3 nonprofit, Osso works on regenerative agriculture, heritage breed conservation, and teaching sustainable methodologies that help the world become greener. The same hands that tend the soil designs the art you wear.
